Waterfalls!

Today we took a little trip to Dry Falls and Bridal Veil Falls between Franklin, NC, and Highlands, GA. The trips involved a lot of winding roads but was not as scary as I anticipated. The Falls were refreshing. The mountains are beautiful as always. The temperature here is 65 in the mornings and 85 in the afternoon. Not as hot as Florida, but still warm. We are supposed to be getting rain and 70-degree temperatures for the remaining week. Heading home Saturday via Scenic Mountain campground in Milledgeville, GA.

Franklin Golf

We went golfing with Butch, Nick and Penny and Peg and Ron, Butches sister-in-law and brother-in-law on the 19th of July. We went this week to the local 9 hole Franklin Golf course. The Mill Creek on the 19th was great. The 9 hole was not a good course. It consisted of well-mowed weeds, the hills were pretty. Here are some pictures from our golfing adventures.

Lots of pretty ducks on this hole. One was aggressive.

Aggressive duck must have been fed before.

Whitewater Rafting on the Nantahala River, Bryson City, NC

On Thursday we spent the day going down the Nantahala River. Our guide told us the river is active from 6 am to about 6 pm. They open the Nantahala Lake damn above for daytime activity as well as power. The river was clear, cold and a category 2-3/6 scale of whitewater rafting. I really enjoyed it. It was fun and relaxing with some fun splashes of cold water along the way. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly loved rafting. I could not take my phone or camera for obvious reasons, so here are some photos of what it looks like from the road. What a blast!

Franklin, NC The Great Outdoors RV Park and Helen, Georgia Day Trip

Took a lovely hour and a half drive over mountains in the Nantahala National park to Helen, Georgia. A lovely town built on the German, Austrian decor. Enjoyed the shops and of course a wonderful German meal. Elwin had a good Bratwurst with potato pancake, and I had the Goulash which is my childhood favorite.

Our home site till we leave on the 4th of August.

Uproad a wonderful outlook over these mountains.

Most spots full here.

Love all the Crepe Myrtle that abounds in this area.
