On Thursday we spent the day going down the Nantahala River. Our guide told us the river is active from 6 am to about 6 pm. They open the Nantahala Lake damn above for daytime activity as well as power. The river was clear, cold and a category 2-3/6 scale of whitewater rafting. I really enjoyed it. It was fun and relaxing with some fun splashes of cold water along the way. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly loved rafting. I could not take my phone or camera for obvious reasons, so here are some photos of what it looks like from the road. What a blast!
